Jess Skyleson, a non-binary writer, is a former aerospace and mechanical engineer who began writing poetry after being diagnosed with stage IV cancer at age 39. Currently in remission, they are now pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Their poems have been selected as finalists in the Tor House and Yemassee Poetry Prizes, and have been published in Oberon Poetry Magazine, Evocations, Nixes Mate Review, and other respected journals.
